During your trip in Loire Valley, you cannot miss a visit in Zoo de Beauval, one of the 10 best zoos in the world. You will find it near the town of Saint-Aignan-sur-Cher, a beautiful old town with a nice castle.
This zoo is managed for more the 35 years by the same french family. It started with a little
ornithological park founded by Françoise Delors, and years after years, this woman expanded the zoo with more and more animals.
Today, the zoo is managed by her son and her daughter and it houses more than 8000 animals on 35 hectares.
The great stars of the zoo are the two pandas loaned by the Chinese government. But you will see a lot of other rare animals, as for example the 6 manatees, 4 okapis, white lions and tigers, koalas... This park is so large, that you will need a whole day to visit it.

During your stay, I will see two different shows. One in a pool with playful sea lions, and another one with birds. This last one is really amazing : 200 birds do an impressive show inside an outdoor auditorium of 3000 seats. It's a real ballet with raptors, cranes, owls, pelicans, storks. At the end, parrots join all the other birds for an unbelievable final.

During year 2016, the zoo welcomed
2 hippos, and build for them a giant glazed pool, unique in the world, so you can observe them under water.
